Tiring Photo Shoot

September 13, 2007 by Jamaal

PeerPowerI had a photo shoot this morning. I needed some corporate imagery to use, mainly online. Jayz Internet Solutions is one of the companies on the VeloCITI programme, CITI’s business acceleration project. As part of the programme we receive monthly sessions with Mignon Lotz-Keyser of PeerPower. The sessions are are focused around personal development, and at the moment we’re doing group analysis on Stephen Covey’s infamous “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” If you need a business support partner then please chat to someone at PeerPower. They’re doing excellent work, especially with entrepreneurs.

Why am I mentioning this?

Well a few months ago Mignon had a photographer come in on one of the group sessions. The photographer, Nazreen Essack, did a sterling job because we saw the photos published on PeerPower’s website shortly thereafter.

Nazreen’s business is called Nazreen Essack Photography, and I booked a shoot with her for this morning. Honestly, I was not going to blog about this, but I just couldn’t believe how much work it took on my part for just a one hour session. I was so tired. It’s actually not an easy task to try different shots and angles all the time. And for the photographer I’m sure it must be worse. Many of us think it’s just about clicking away at the camera – but it’s actually much more complicated. There’s a lot of skill required to be a professional photographer.

Well, as soon as I receive the CD of today’s shoot I’ll be publishing some photos online – so watch this space!
