Minister Tasneem Essop visits BWB

September 14, 2007 by Jamaal

Yesterday Minister Tasneem Essop visited the Bandwidth Barn. The Minister was responding to an invitation to see what the Bandwidth Barn and Cape IT Initiative (CITI) were doing to improve, grow, and develop the ICT Sector within the Western Cape.

Viola Manuel, the Executive Director of Cape IT Initiative (CITI) and Odette Potter, the General Manager of the Bandwidth Barn spoke about the achievements these organizations have made, and the plans for the future.

Paul Vecchiatto from ITWeb, Tamara from Cape Talk, and Karen Smith from Die Burger were in attendance from the Media side.

Tasneem Essop is the Minister of Environment, Planning and Economic Development for the Provincial Government of the Western Cape.

Jayz Internet Solutions was fortunate to be one of the selected group out of the VeloCITI programme to attend the session with the Minister. It was pleasing to find the Minister so interested in our businesses, and also in the work of the Bandwidth Barn and Cape IT Initiative (CITI) within the ICT Sector.

You’re welcome Jo! Soon the VeloCITI sessions will be over. Will we survive? :)

Hi Jamaal, When are the proffesional photos being released and has any of the comments made by the various companies being printed?

Hey buddy. They are available at BWB if you want them. I’ve just posted most of them on my blog. About the article – no they did not print our comments.

Thanks, Just saw the pics now and they GREAT!. I will be sure to check out your Blog on a regular basis. Maybe we can capture all the companies working together at their place of Business and post it. Whats your thoughts? Similar to the slide show you have but just with companies in our group.

I think we should do that. If you can arrange some to take the pics, or each company can take their own. I will create a slideshow when it’s all done.
