Link Love
May 27, 2008 by Jamaal
What I really love about Web 2.0 – The Human Web as I call it – is that everyone loves to share. People share links, feelings, ideas, photos, videos – it’s phenomenal. It again brings me to our interpersonal lives as human beings. Don’t we share the same things with family and friends? Of course we do. And the spirit of Web 2.0 is that everyone is family, everyone is your friend, and everyone is worthy of sharing with.
You gotta love it!!!
On Twitter I saw a message from @Chaitanya which read: “Good resources for images http://tinyurl.com/4b4zzy.” As you can see, each of my blog posts has an image, I think images make a huge difference, so I of course followed this link. It took me to a blog called Web Worker Daily, and I found the post 6 Resources for Free Images quite useful. I browsed the links, and got some good ideas. I won’t go into all of them, but I want to share something in particular.
Web Worker Daily took me to Stockvault.net, and when I explored their blog section I found a post titled Adobe Photoshop On the Web. Can you believe it? An online version of Photoshop? Albeit an “Express” version – with I’m sure many of the high-end features excluded – but who cares? :)
I haven’t gone to the website myself yet, but Photoshop Express is at this link. I’m not a graphic designer at all, but we all sometimes need to edit an image here or there. I’ve used Photoshop before, and it’s one of the best out there – probably the best. Now an online version? Wow! I’m impressed. More proof that we’re working towards the reality of “The Web as a Platform.” I’m sure the graphic design community is going to love this.
